TransContainer increased the volume of goods transported from China to Ekaterinburg

PJSC TransContainer has been successfully developing its transportations from China to Ekaterinburg through Zabaikalsk. The volume of goods transported in this direction amounted to 1465 TEU in the first half of 2017, which is 55% more compared to the same period in 2016.

In order to launch a high-speed container train from China to the cities of the Urals Federal District through Zabaikalsk, PJSC TransContainer has improved its logistics and attracted flows of cargo from alternative modes of transport and routes, which made consolidation of cargoes at one point of dispatch possible.

Since June 2017, cargoes have been successfully transported by high-speed container trains from Changchun, where cargoes arrive from the ports of Ningbo, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Qingdao. The most popular cargoes are consumer goods, household appliances, souvenirs and rubber products. The transit lead-time is 12 days. The trains are scheduled on a regular basis. The next dispatch is scheduled for the last week of July. This project is developed together with the company’s partners.

‘The Changchun-Ekaterinburg high-speed container train is a safe on-time delivery at a higher speed and lower cost. Regular transportations allow improving the transportation and storage logistics and reducing costs through more efficient supply of goods planning,’ said Stepan Shibaev, Director of the Sverdlovsk Railway branch of PJSC TransContainer.
