angle-left null "TransContainer" launched a container train from the port Mys Churkin to the station Zhigulevskoe More

The first container train sent by PJSC TransContainer from Mys-Churkin station (ex.) Far Eastern Railway on November 17, 2016, arrived at the Zhigulevskoe More station of the Kuibyshevskaya Railway on Saturday, November 26.

As part of a container train with a length of 71 conventional cars, cargoes of various nomenclatures in containers owned by PJSC TransContainer and other owners were transported.

The travel time of the container train from the departure station to the destination station was 9 days. After completion of final operations, including customs procedures, containers are delivered to actual consignees in Tolyatti and the nearest regions (the cities of Samara, Ulyanovsk, Penza and Nizhnekamsk). The planned frequency of train departure is once a week.

The new service will allow the Company’s customers to reduce delivery time from the APR countries (China, Japan, South Korea, etc.) to the Volga region. In addition, shipment as part of a container train ensures the safety of the transported goods and makes it possible to receive a discount on the railway tariff for the delivery of goods from the Asian-Pacific Region countries to the Volga Federal District.

“Given the active development of industry in our region, there is a long-term potential for the growth of cargo flows from the Asian-Pacific Region countries. This service will allow industrial enterprises to improve logistics for the delivery of goods, reduce stocks, thereby reducing costs and increasing the efficiency of their business.  The speed of delivery, the cost of transportation, the safety of the cargo transported and the high quality of customer service create real competition for sea and road transport,” said Aleksey Bulytov, Director of branch of PJSC TransContainer on the Kuibyshevskaya Railway.
