PJSC TransContainer reduces the transit time of trains on the China-Russia route

PJSC TransContainer, Chinese container operator China Railways Container Transport (CRCT) and Liaoning Port Group organized the shipment of container trains from China to Russia under the scheme "3 to 2". The project is implemented under the auspices of the Government of Tunlao (Inner Mongolia, PRC), Shenyang and Harbin Railways, and Manchuria Customs.

Container trains with passenger cars (total cargo volume of 270 TEU) departed from Zabaikalsk railway station on June 28, 2019, where at the company's terminal they were overloaded according to the scheme "3 to 2", i.e. three trains were transformed into two by direct transshipment. Then they have travelled on territory of Russia to Moscow and on July 8 arrived to Vorotynsk railway station.

"The "3 to 2" project helps to overcome the problem of differences in the length of trains adopted in China and Russia. At the same time, the total transit time of transportation is reduced due to more efficient transshipment of containers from narrow gauge cars to wide gauge cars, which, undoubtedly, increases the attractiveness of the route and a new point of growth in transportation volumes," said acting Deputy General Director of PJSC TransContainer Alexander Podylov.
