PJSC TransContainer and REGION Group of Companies report on starting cooperation in arranging freight traffic between the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The agreement, which provides for the synchronization of the Kanikurgan customs and logistics terminal (CLT) (Amur Region) and the container terminal in Blagoveshchensk, was signed by Vyacheslav Saraev, the General Director of PJSC TransContainer, and Valeria Repkova, the General Director of the Agency for Development of Project Initiatives, REGION Group of Companies, on November 20th in Moscow on the sidelines of the XIII International Exhibition "Transport of Russia".

REGION Group of Companies acts as an investor in construction of the largest customs and logistics terminal “Kanikurgan” in the Far East, which will become an important part of the comprehensive infrastructure of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe motorway bridge over the Amur River and will increase the volume of Russian-Chinese cargo traffic through Blagoveshchensk in 10 times by 2030.

The distribution of functions is as follows: customs clearance and consolidation of goods will take place at "Kanikurgan" which goods will then be delivered to Blagoveshchensk for loading into container trains. Together with REGION Group of Companies, the operator of Kanikurgan CLT, we will ensure fast-paced making up cars into trains and precise operation of the terminal by including Kanikurgan in logistics solutions in the Amur Region and Northeast China,” commented Vyacheslav Saraev.

“By partnering with TransContainer, we will be able to connect traffic flows from the PRC to the Trans-Siberian Railway, offering efficient logistics solutions to the market. Effective in terms of delivery time and cost. The capacities of the Kanikurgan CLT will cover almost the whole of Northeast China, where the volume of road transport substantially prevails over the railway one, and connect the main centers of economic activity of Northeast China and the EAEU countries,” said Valeria Repkova.

About the transport and logistics terminal "Kanikurgan"

“Kanikurgan” CLT, the project of the REGION Group of Companies is planned to be implemented until 2024. It will unite many infrastructure facilities (parking lots, customs clearance units, warehouses, cafes and others) across an area of about 22 hectares. The first phase: temporary storage warehouses, a truck stop for parking trucks and buses, as well as an administrative building, will be built already in 2020. Total investment in the construction of CLT will exceed 8.1 billion rubles.
