PJSC TransContainer branch at Zabaikalskaya railway together with the Russian and the Chinese railways are working on a scheme for iron-ore concentrate delivery in open-top containers with the loading capacity of 32 tons to consignees in China.

The pilot dispatch of 4 containers loaded with iron-ore concentrate via Borzya station to Manzhouli station was organized in May.

The unique feature of this project is that the concentrate was loaded in bulk through the container top. An automatic elevator gradually bulks the concentrate from the top thus making the loading process fast. A rail tractor moves the train non-stop under the automatic elevator. Such kind of loading is cheaper and more convenient than loading into high-sided wagons which are currently used for transportation of concentrate.

Should the pilot dispatches be successful, the service will become regular.
