TransContainer Increases Capacity of a Key Terminal in Far East

PJSC TransContainer of Delo Group has carried out major reconstruction of a part of Khabarovsk-2 container terminal. As a result the characteristics of container yard No. 7 were improved greatly. Useful capacity increased almost by half up to 620 TEU, unloading area has room for 23 conventional wagons now which will significantly speed up the cargo handling and reduce the delivery time for the customer. The stacking capacity reached 4 containers. Following the modernization results there were also performed works on terminal tile setting, additionally there was set new lighting system at the yard which will enhance the safety and quality of work at the yard at night.

The ceremony of modernized container yard No. 7 opening was attended by the branch top management and Evgeniy Lyashenko, Deputy Head of Dalnevostochnaya railway at regional office in Khabarovsk.

“Putting of this facility into operation will considerably increase the handling capacity of the terminal, speed up the rolling stock turnover, minimize idling of the wagons during cargo operations which ultimately will decrease time of container handling at the terminal and increase quality of services rendered to our customers”, stated Petr Silin, Director of PJSC TransContainer branch at Dalnevostochnaya railway.

One of PJSC TransContainer’s priorities is maintenance of smooth and high-speed cargo handling at terminals which allows improving of customer service and container transportation efficiency; that is why the company performs modernization of its terminal network all over the country on a regular basis.
