JSC TransContainer and DB Schenker BTT (GmbH) presented a new service in the field of chemical cargo transportation in containers

Within the framework of the 15th anniversary TRANSRUSSIA international exhibition, JSC TransContainer and DB Schenker BTT (GmbH) held a meeting with customers at which they presented a new service in the field of chemical cargo transportation in containers. In developing this product, DB Schenker BTT used its competencies in the field of container equipment, as well as the experience of intermodal transportation of chemical goods, and JSC TransContainer used its experience in organizing cargo transportation in general purpose containers, as well as the capabilities of its own container terminals in Russia. The main advantages of this service are customer focus and European quality.

“As an increasing number of Russian chemical enterprises rely in their production process on European and global quality standards, this also requires an appropriate level of logistics services for the delivery of manufactured products, and to ensure modern logistics the use of universal and specialized containers has been recognized as optimal throughout the world, namely – tank containers,” Deputy General Director for Business Development of JSC TransContainer Pavel Chichagov commented the presentation of the new product.
To date, JSC TransContainer, together with German partners, has developed and implemented for a number of customers a European-level service for the transportation, storage and handling of tank containers with chemical cargo.

“At the moment, we have been providing such a service in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod for a year. In the future, in the framework of cooperation with DB Schenker BTT, we plan to expand the network of our terminals capable of receiving and handling chemical goods. This will allow us to offer our customers a new level of service and satisfy the logistic requirements of chemical industry enterprises of varying degrees of complexity,” said Stanislav Stankevich, Director of the Center for Organization of Transportation in Specialized Containers of JSC TransContainer.
In turn, CEO of DB Schenker BTT Dr. Jörg Hilker added: “We provide our services for the transportation of chemical goods throughout Western Europe, and the eastern part of Russia is not yet covered by this business.  In the near future, the situation should change – together with OJSC TransContainer, we will be able to offer similar services throughout Russia. In partnership, a responsible approach is important to us, taking into account compliance with safety requirements and quality standards throughout the supply chain, which is the strength of OJSC TransContainer.
