TransContainer launched a container block-train service St. Petersburg - Khabarovsk

JSC TransContainer launches container train on the route St. Petersburg – Khabarovsk without rehandling along the route. The project was developed on the basis of the technical train SPb-Tovarny-Vitebsky-Inskaya station of the West Siberian Railway (today 50 such trains have already been sent). The new service was created taking into account the increased interest from customers and the use of experience in attracting additional volumes of goods.

The first train with a nominal length of 71 cars departed from the terminal of JSC TransContainer at the St. Petersburg-Tovarny-Vitebsky station to the Khabarovsk station on May 26, 2012. The train consists of cars of the JSC TransContainer fleet and other owners loaded with large-capacity containers with destinations at the stations of the Far Eastern Railway.

Sending a train without rehandling at the distributing stations SPb-Sortirovochny-Moskovsky and Inskaya will reduce the travel time to Khabarovsk by two days – up to 16 days.

The planned volume of container trains on the route St. Petersburg-Vitebsk-Khabarovsk will be two trains per month.

Sending such trains can significantly reduce the time of cargo delivery, increase the turnover of cars and containers, and also improve the quality of services provided to customers.
