TransContainer launched a container block-train service St. Petersburg - Babushkino (Sverdlovsk region)

JSC TransContainer launches container train on the route St. Petersburg-Finlandsky-Babushkino (Sverdlovsk Region).  The train path was developed as part of expanding the list of services provided to customers.

The first train with a nominal length of 57 cars departed from the terminal of JSC TransContainer at the Petersburg-Finlandsky station to the Babushkino station on March 24, 2012. The train consisted of the cars of the JSC TransContainer fleet loaded with large-capacity containers belonging to other owners. At the Babushkino station, containers are loaded with cargo – glued plywood – and sent as part of a container train to the Sea Trade Port of St. Petersburg.

The planned volume of container trains on the route St. Petersburg-Finlandsky-Babushkino starting in April this year will be two trains per month.

The dispatch of such trains allowed expanding the customer base at the terminal of JSC TransContainer, improving the quality of services provided to the customer, as well as increasing the Company’s profitability.
