Dispatch of the first container train of JSC TransContainer Chelyabinsk-St. Petersburg

From the station Chelyabinsk-gruzovoy of the Yuzhnouralskaya Railway, the first container train of JSC TransContainer was sent with the products of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combine (CHeMK) to the Novy Port station of Oktyabrskaya Railway for further shipment to the port of Rotterdam. The container train consists of 92 20-foot containers with a carrying capacity of 24 tons on 46 well cars. Each container is loaded with ferroalloys to the maximum load capacity. Transit time along route from the Chelyabinsk-gruzovoy station to the Novy Port station is 73 hours.

ChEMK OJSC is one of the main customers of JSC TransContainer branch on the Yuzhnouralskaya Railway, and this shipment of cargo as part of a container train is a transition to a fundamentally new level of joint work between our enterprises.  The service offered to the plant will significantly reduce the delivery time of products, reduce the time for handling containers both at the departure station and at the destination station, as well as the turnaround time of equipment of OJSC TransContainer. The agreement on the organization of transportation of ferroalloys by container trains was reached on April 29 at the negotiations within the framework of the TransRussia 2010 exhibition.  Representatives of ChEMK OJSC assured of the possibility of organizing at least two container trains along this route every month with targeted provision of universal containers and flat cars owned by OJSC TransContainer.
