OJSC TransContainer launched container train on route Saint-Petersburg - Vladivostok (Pervaya Rechka station at the Dalnevostochny railway). First train with deemed length of 71 rail cars left Saint-Petersburg Vitebskiy Freight station at Oktyabrskaya railway on 30 November 2012. Train running time is 10 days. In December 2012 two more trains are planned, and later on the frequency should be increased to 4 trips a month.

Realisation of the Saint-Petersburg-Vladivostok container train is due to additional volumes of freight that were a result of the project of block-trains launched in 2011. Thus as of today 116 container trains departed from the Saint-Petersburg-Vitebsky station of the Oktyabrskaya railway to the following destination terminals: Ekaterinburg station of the Sverdlovskaya railway, Inskaya station of the West-Siberian railway and Khabarovsk-2 station of the Dalnevostochny railway. Block-trains allow to significantly decrease the shipping time and increase turnover of rail cars and containers as well as improve the quality of services provided to customers.

In May 2012 TransContainer launched direct container train on the route Saint-Petersburg – Khabarovsk.

Currently OJSC TransContainer branch is working over realisation of container train on the route to Novosibirsk (the Kleshchikha station of the West Siberian railway being the destination terminal).
