PJSC TransContainer and Lorus SCM Signed Agreement on Joint Logistics Projects Development

PJSC TransContainer and Lorus SCM have signed a memorandum on long-term cooperation with respect to development of regular supply chains and intermodal container service from Japan and Southeast Asian countries as well as container cargo transportation for the SOLLERS Group.

The document was signed by Viacheslav Saraev, CEO of PJSC TransContainer, Nikolai Sobolev, General Director of Lorus SCM and Vadim Shvetsov, General Director of PJSC SOLLERS.

The agreement is aimed at rationalization of all the key logistics stages in order to maintain the components supply for SOLLERS factories in Ulyanovsk, where they produce UAZ automobiles and also build a new factory within the frame of a joint venture with Japanese company Isuzu, along with the interests of Ford and Mazda international partners of the group in Saint-Petersburg, Tatarstan and Vladivostok.

PJSC TransContainer and Lorus SCM are working out joint projects on development of intermodal container service from Japan / Southeast Asian countries via Pacific Logistics’ sea terminal in Vladivostok to Ulianovsk-3 station. The parties consider organization of train movement on the loop-route, coordination of efforts on speeding up customs procedures, better technologies of trains acceptance and dispatch, use of additional rolling stock and development of other services.

TransContainer together with Lorus SCM launched transportations from the Far-Eastern terminal a year ago. At a new stage of the project we’re planning to increase the train traffic density as well as to continue development of new joint services. Successful and flourishing cooperation of PJSC TransContainer and PJSC SOLLERS is a spectacular evidence that the Russian railway container transportation is an effective instrument for making global value chains in hi-tech sphere – CEO of PJSC TransContainer Viacheslav Saraev noted.

Modern logistics technologies change the operating mode of automobile manufacturing. SOLLERS factories have already become suppliers for major automobile companies; faster delivery, better car and car parts transportation safety offer new opportunities both for domestic and international supply – Vadim Shvetsov, General Director of SOLLERS, stated.

Logistics support for Isuzu company, which produces trucks in Ulyanovsk, will be one of the first projects. It will create basis for gaining traction and handling major export flows after launch of new production capacity within the frame of Isuzu Sollers joint venture– Nikolai Sobolev, General Director of Lorus SCM said. – The company already has a successful joint experience in this region on ensuring the inflow of car assembly sets for Ulyanovsk automobile factory and Isuzu.
