PJSC TransContainer reduces container handling time at Zabaykalsk terminal
The container terminal of PJSC TransContainer at the Zabaykalsk station reduces the time it takes for container trains to pass through the border crossing, taking into account the overload of containers from 1,435 gauge to 1,520 gauge and registration of customs documents.
This was made possible thanks to the joint work of all divisions of the railway junction and state regulatory bodies. The technology was experimentally tested on container trains following the route Dalian (China) – Vorsino station of the Moscovskaya Railway with cargo of Samsung.
Handling at the Manchuria-Zabaykalsk border crossing when transshipping test container trains was reduced by 4 times to 6 hours, and the processing of all documents taking into account customs procedures at the Zabaykalsk terminal was 40 minutes. The time reduction was achieved by obtaining preliminary information from the customer, which allowed submitting electronic transit declarations to the customs authorities and creating blanks of railway consignment notes in information systems before the train arrives at the border crossing.
The next stage is the transportation of the train using paperless technology using electronic copies of documents, on which the Company works together with partners.
