PJSC TransContainer increases transportation from China to Russia via Mongolia

PJSC TransContainer together with partners launched a regular container service for the delivery of goods from China through the territory of Mongolia to the capital of the Urals, Yekaterinburg.

Today, on July 20, the second container train arrived at Yekaterinburg-Tovarny station, which left on July 7 from the Chinese city of Ulanqab (Inner Mongolia, China). The train was followed by containers with consumer goods with a total volume of 76 TEUs. Travel time was 13 days, with a route length of 5,600 km. The next train is scheduled for July 25. Further shipments are planned on a weekly basis.

“This project is being implemented in the context of an increase in export-import traffic between Russia and China, and also meets the objectives of the Program to create the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor, signed on June 23, 2016 in Tashkent at the Summit of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The service will significantly reduce the delivery time of goods from the northern and eastern provinces of China to one of the largest industrial and dynamically developing regions of Russia – the Sverdlovsk Region, including to the nearest large cities such as Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Tyumen, Perm and Ufa,” emphasized Dmitry Berezkin, Head of Business Development Project Management, PJSC TransContainer.
