TransContainer reduced tariff rates for Riga Express container block-train service

JSC TransContainer reduced tariff rates for the services of the Riga Express container train on average by more than 5%. In particular, the shipping cost of a loaded 20-foot container (weighing up to 24 tons) on the route Riga-Moscow decreased from 950 to 900 euros, 40-foot (up to 30 tons) – from 1350 to 1,200 euros, 45-foot (up to 30 tons) – from 1,450 to 1,300 euros. Delivery of an empty 40-foot container on the route Moscow-Riga will now cost the shipper 650 euros instead of 850 euros, 45-foot – 700 euros instead of 900 euros.  Reduced tariff rates for transportation by Riga Express train are valid from April 20 to June 30, 2012.

Tariffs for Riga Express services were reduced in order to popularize the service and increase the frequency of container train runs from one to four times a month.  JSC TransContainer expects that the Riga Express will run weekly by the end of the first half of 2012.

Work on the resumption of container train runs began in the fall of 2011. Regular shipments began in December 2011.  The total volume of goods transported amounted to more than 934 TEUs.

Silmar Spb LLC is engaged in attracting shippers for this transportation. The Riga Express customers are offered a wide range of services – in particular, terminal cargo handling in Moscow and Riga.
