angle-left null JSC TransContainer and FESCO Transportation Group comment on the Federal Tariff Service’s decision on special tariffs

JSC “TransContainer” (“TransContainer”) and FESCO Transportation Group (“FESCO”) welcome the decision of the Federal Tariff Service (“FTS”) of 7 December 2010 which set special tariffs for Russian rail container transportation for 2011.

This decision specifies that Russian Railways’ tariff for rail container transportation by private rolling stock will increase on average in 2011 by merely 5% from levels set in 2010.

As leaders of the Russian container market, TransContainer and FESCO believe that this decision will improve the competitiveness of rail container transportation in Russia compared to alternative means of transport and will be beneficial for attracting additional container cargo from deep-sea routes into the Russian transportation system.

TransContainer and FESCO are convinced that FTS’s decision will facilitate further growth in containerisation in the Russian market and will improve Russia’s role as an international transport corridor.
