TransContainer and SIBUR integrated TMS systems to improve efficiency of container transportation management

PJSC TransContainer and PJSC SIBUR Holding are implementing pilot project of Transport Management Systems (TMS) integration. This will allow both companies to arrange unified through process of planning and following-up multimodal cargo transportation.

PJSC TransContainer has become the first logistics company to establish successful information exchange with SIBUR on all the levels of multimodal transportation. The system’s features make it possible to order both export and Russian domestic railway transportation by creating respective orders with particular dates of rolling stock supply to the house tracks of SIBUR terminals. Besides the processes of applications and orders confirmation and corrections approval (if necessary) are also computerized.

Thanks to integrated TMS systems SIBUR gets information on the containers and wagons location in the railway network specifying the expected arrival date and TransContainer in its turn receive data on the operations performed with its containers at SIBUR terminals immediately.

The through process is not limited to the railway transportation only; it also includes execution of an application for sea transportation booking, their confirmation, approval of the chosen voyage as well as all the steps of bill of lading execution for sea transportation.

The companies have already started to execute first transportation: orders for transportation have been processed and approved via the integrated system; SIBUR’s product is being loaded for further export transportation.

TransContainer renders SIBUR the service of ZapSibNeftekhim’s (holding’ subsidiary company) polymeric product transportation in general-purpose containers. The cargo is to be transported over Russia and exported to the South-East Asia (mainly to China). The respective agreement was signed by the companies in April, 2019.
