TransContainer together with Ministry of Transport, Government of Sverdlovsk Region and Russian Railways is implementing project of Transport and Logistics Centers in the Urals

Russian Ministry of Transport, Government of Sverdlovsk Region, JSC RZD and PJSC TransContainer have agreed to cooperate on implementing the federal project of Transport and Logistics Centers in the region. This project is a part of the Comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of trunk infrastructure for the period up to 2024 approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The respective agreement was signed by President of PJSC TransContainer Aleksandr Isurin, Deputy Transport Minister of Russia Alexey Semenov, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeniy Kuyvashev and Corporate Management Director of JSC RZD Andrey Starkov.

One of the first transport and logistics projects included into the program of creating hubs network in Russia was TLC at Sedelnikovo station in Sysertsky urban district in Sverdlovsk region. Under the agreement the parties will arrange development of an action plan for creating a new complex according to the standards of the TLC network development general scheme; they also will take preliminary assessment of the required investment and its source. PJSC TransContainer will be responsible for the terminal construction.

Centers like this are created for the purpose of lower logistics costs, enhanced speed and reliability of cargo delivery, higher quality of transportation services, fulfillment of export and transit potential of Russia as well as ensuring sound investment climate in the regions.

TLC at Sedelnikovo station adjacent to Yekaterinburg belt highway and M-5 highway (Yekaterinburg-Chelyabinsk) may be embodied as a ‘freight village’.

Its key principle is location nearby the industrial park at a cross of main cargo flows. This involves provision of a complete set of logistics services to the customers: starting from the transportation itself, cargo collection, packing, marking, consolidation and deconsolidation, loading and unloading and ending with the ‘last mile’ delivery.

‘We are always open for cooperation within the projects aimed at rendering better service to our customers. Implementation of this project will allow our company to reach new level of terminal handling in Yekaterinburg, consolidate our position in the market of logistics services in the Urals’ – noted Aleksandr Isurin, President of PJSC TransContainer.

Capacity of the on-coming terminal may reach from 4.3 to 10 million tons of cargo a year.
