In 2021 TransContainer Overpaid Obligations to Russian Railways by 30%

By the end of 2021 PJSC TransContainer of Delo Group has overpaid its obligations to the Russian Railways (the Company, carrier) by 29.6% with respect to the amount of freight charges stipulated by the terms of sale of the Company’s stake in TransContainer to Delo Group.

The amount of payments reached 71.1 billion RUB in 2021. In 2020 TransContainer also overpaid its obligations by paying 56.7 billion RUB instead of 49.4 stipulated by the agreements.

“This is not the first year when container transportation turned out to be the most rapidly growing and profitable segment of railway transportation market of Russia. TransContainer, as the major container operator of the country, strives to build constructive and mutually beneficial partnership with the Russian Railways and contribute to the industry development in proportion to its role”, noted Aleksandr Isurin, President of TransContainer.

Obligatory payments were set for the period of 2019-2021, thus TransContainer has completely fulfilled its obligations to the Russian Railways provided for by the terms of the deal between the carrier and Delo Group.
