TransContainer of Delo Group launches new services from China to Saint-Petersburg via inland border-crossing point of Zabaikalsk (Zabaikalskiy Krai) and via the territory of Kazakhstan (border-crossing point of Dostyk).

The new services are intended for import of consumer goods to the European part of Russia, and they will complement the logistics solutions already developed by TransContainer in terms of limited traffic through the port of Saint-Petersburg.

After accumulation of cargoes from different regions of China at Zabaikalsk and Dostyk stations, the containers are dispatched to TransContainer's terminal at Shushary station (JSC Logistika-Terminal) by the company’s own rolling stock.

The first regular public train consisting of 56 containers left Zabaikalsk on May 17. The estimated transit time is 8 days. It is planned that shipments will be performed on a weekly basis. Shipment of the first 50 containers within the new service via Dostyk is scheduled for the end of May. The estimated transit time through Kazakhstan and Russia is up to 7 days.

"The expansion of the regular routes network allows us to diversify options for the import shipments from China to Saint-Petersburg and further transportation to the regions of Russia. Since the service is completely arranged by TransContainer and transportation is carried out in containers and by rolling stock owned by the company, we can guarantee our customers a high-quality and reliable service at a reasonable cost. The customer can order the service both through the Russian office and through TransContainer Freight Forwarding (Shanghai) Co., LTD (TCFF), our subsidiary company in China," said Vladimir Khlutkov, Asia-Pacific Business Development Director of TransContainer.

Upon the customers’ requests TransContainer carries out transportation to Saint-Petersburg via Grodekovo and Kamyshovaya border-crossing points, via Altynkol (in transit through Kazakhstan) and Zamyn-Uud (in transit through Mongolia), the company also performs transportation and delivery of containers across China within TCFF’s services. Multimodal routes through the VSC terminal are also available.
