TransContainer will Cooperate with RZD, Ministry of Transport of Russia and Primorye Government in Creation of TLC at Uglovaya Station
TransContainer of Delo Group, RZD, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Primorye Government have agreed to cooperate in creation of transport and logistics center (TLC) at Uglovaya station in Primorsky Krai.
The relevant document was signed during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) by Victor Markov, Director of TransContainer, Alexey Shilo, Deputy General Director of RZD – Head of Center for Corporate Transport Services, Valentin Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Transport, and Valery Prokopchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Primorsky Krai.
The TLC will be created on the basis of Uglovaya railway station within the framework of departmental project “Formation of the Transport and Logistics Centers Network”. The TLC project is aimed at reducing logistics costs, increasing the speed and reliability of cargo delivery, as well as improving the quality of transportation services in the region. The expected cargo turnover of the TLC will be up to 100 thousand TEUs a year by 2026.
"The implementation of project of Uglovaya TLC construction will allow us to realize the export and transit potential of Primorsky Krai and ensure a favorable investment climate in the region. Backed by the current capacities of TransContainer's terminal at Pervaya Rechka station in Vladivostok, we will be able to expand our presence in the region and offer new services to our customers,” said Victor Markov.
Under the agreement, the parties will conduct a preliminary investment assessment, work out the best possible project management scheme, and prepare a “road map” for the project implementation. In particular, TransContainer will prepare a return-on-investment study regarding creation of TLC in Primorsky Krai and develop proposals on the planned TLC infrastructure.
