The program for increasing the capacity of TransContainer’s (Delo Group) terminals gives results. In 2020 Zabaikalsk container terminal which is situated on the main cargo turnover route between Russia and China has beaten its record for the most containers handled at the terminal in a year. By the end of this year more than 1200 block trains are to be dispatched from Zabaikalsk station which is 38% more than in 2019.

Such results were achieved due to prolongation of crane runways and renovation of lifting equipment, which increased handling capacity of the terminal and accelerated transshipment of containers.

Moreover TransContainer is going to finalize realization of a “through technology” according to which block trains will be sent to the receiving-departure yard directly from the terminal. This technology will reduce time limits for handling and collecting a block train, relieve yards and facilities at Zabaikalsk railway station. A new technology will increase twice throughput capacity of the terminal from 7 up to 14 block trains a day which will respectively improve the quality of service and reduce cargo delivery time for all customers and also will increase transit potential of the Russian Federation at the international trade market.
