TransContainer increases its terminal capacity in the Omsk Region by 15%, storage space - by 50%

PJSC TransContainer increased the capacity of its own terminal at Omsk-Vostochny station by installing a double-girder gantry crane with a lifting capacity of 45 tonnes. Commissioning of the new mechanism increased the container yard storage space by 50% - from 830 to 1.2 thousand TEU, and the processing capacity - by 15% - from 39 to 45 thousand TEU.

The crane allows placing containers in three tiers (the same equipment is installed at the company's terminals in Chita and Magnitogorsk). New equipment was installed to replace outdated equipment.

Replacement of the gantry crane was the first stage of the terminal refurbishment project in Omsk. The second phase involves the upgrade of the container yard. As a result of the project implementation, the terminal's capacity will reach 57,000 TEU per year.

The container terminal at Omsk-Vostochny station cooperates with practically all industrial companies of the region, whose products are suitable for transportation in containers. The company's share in the container transportation market in the Omsk Region in 2024 amounted to 23%. The main cargoes are bitumen, black carbon, barley, vegetable oils, rubber products.

The systematic development of the terminal network is one of the priority areas of TransContainer's investment program. Terminal refurbishment was also discussed in 2023 at the meeting of Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, with Governor of the region Vitaly Khotsenko. In a growing market of container transportation, strengthening of the infrastructure will allow the company to timely meet the needs of the companies of the Omsk Region in container transportation.
