TransContainer Financed Development of Social Infrastructure in Zabaikalsk

PJSC TransContainer of Delo Group has financed construction of a sports ground for local residents and installation of an entrance stele within the framework of program on developing the infrastructure of Zabaikalsk settlement. The grand opening of the facilities in the presence of the residents and guests of the settlement took place on September 1, 2022.

The cross functional 540-square-meter area with a rubber surface is intended for team sports. It offers adults and children a wide range of opportunities for individual development and health promotion. In addition, TransContainer arranged for the installation of a stele at the entrance to Zabaikalsk. The stele is a structure made of marble and metal, the main element of which is a white-naped (Daurian) crane - the symbol of Zabaikalsk.

“Our largest overland terminal, which ensures the flow of goods between Russia and China, is located in Zabaikalsk. Delo Group always strives to help improve the environment and quality of life in the places of our presence. It is not just a business for us, but also responsibility to our employees, their families and all the residents. That is why we have decided to contribute to the development of the infrastructure of Zabaikalsk. We hope that the social projects implemented by the company will increase the attractiveness of life and work in the settlement," noted Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Delo Group and PJSC TransContainer.

These are not TransContainer's first projects aimed at the development of urban infrastructure in Zabaikalsk. For example, in 2018, the company financed the expansion of a sports ground in the city park, and in 2019, TransContainer installed a module for warming and changing clothes for the visitors of the hockey field. To date, both facilities are actively used by local residents. The population of the settlement is 13 thousand people.

TransContainer owns a terminal at Zabaikalsk station, a key point for the development of international transportation on the border of Russia and China. The company is implementing a comprehensive program of the terminal renovation to ensure smooth handling of cargo. In November 2021, TransContainer acquired a second terminal at Zabaikalsk station. In 2022, the company is implementing a project to elaborate a "through" terminal operation technology, which will make block trains processing and formation faster. It is expected that after the renovation in 2022, TransContainer's aggregate capacity at Zabaikalsk station will increase from 300,000 TEUs to 555,000 TEUs.
