TransContainer is entered in the register of customs carriers

The Russian Federation’s Federal Customs Service has entered OJSC TransContainer in the register of road transport customs carriers. The company has been issued Certificate No. 10000/0094, valid until 2013.

Its inclusion in the register of customs carriers will allow the company to carry out road freight transportation of goods placed under customs control.

“Effectively, by being included in this register, we have gained the opportunity to develop our services more efficiently and to increase international containertransportation, including through transportation. This fully complies with OJSC TransContainer’s development strategy,” emphasised OJSC TransContainer’s General Director, Petr Baskakov.

Under the Customs Code, the obligations of a customs carrier include the maintenance of records of goods transported and the provision of information on such goods to the customs authorities. In certain cases, the carrier is obligated to make customs payments. The company is also obligated to keep confidential information on goods obtained from consignors, recipients or freight forwarders.
