The first meeting of OJSC TransContainer’s new Board of Directors was held on 21 May and attended by the Board. The minutes of the meeting were signed on 26 May. Pursuant to a decision of OJSC TransContainer’s Board of Directors, Dmitry Novikov, Advisor to the President of OJSC RZhD, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Alexei Averin, Head of the International Traffic Department at OJSC RZhD, was elected Deputy Chairman. A report was given at the meeting by OJSC TransContainer’s General Director, Petr Baskakov, on the results of the company’s operations over the first quarter of 2008. The Board of Directors approved the results. In addition, the Board of Directors took a number of decisions connected to preparations for the Company’s annual general meeting of shareholders, scheduled for 27 June 2008, and decisions on the creation of an Auditing Committee and a Strategy Committee under the Board of Directors. The Board also approved the rendering of charitable assistance to the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre: in transporting their sets to Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, the theatre will receive a 50% discount on the cost of OJSC TransContainer’s services.

Dmitry Konstantinovich Novikov was born on 29 June 1969 in Moscow. In 1993, he graduated from the Moscow Financial Institute, specialising in International Currency and Credit Relations. He started work in 1992 for the Evrofinans commercial bank, where he worked until 1998 as the head of the Project Financing Department. He then took up a position with Vneshtorgbank, where until 2000 he held the posts of Director of the Investment Department and Director of Client Relations. From 2002, he held the post of Vice-President of JSC ALROSA, where he oversaw the investment side of the company’s operations. From 2007 onwards, he has been Advisor to the President of OJSC RZhD. Since May 2008, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC TransContainer.
