Despite the transport market slump in the end of the year, JSC TransContainer financial report 2008 highlighted quite positive performance of the Company.

The Company’s fitting platform transportation volume in Russia and abroad grew by 15% against the previous year. The number of dispatched container trains made up of TransContainer fitting platforms grew by 2.5 in 2007.

Besides, in 2008, the Company’s terminals handled 36.5% of total container volume of the Russian railways.

It is to note that JSC TransContainer retains the position of the market leader and leases its fitting platforms to other companies operating on the container transportation market. Last year more than 60% of containers were transported by JSC TransContainer platforms.
