JSC TransContainer is increasing the number of container trains from Italy to Russia

As part of the project to organize the railway container transportation of FIAT car parts to Russia, OJSC TransContainer included a new route with a new departure point in the logistics scheme.  On June 12, 2010, a container train from Pescara (Italy), 200 km from Rome, arrived at the container terminal of TransContainer – Slovakia, a.s. in Dobra. The train consists of 32 40-foot containers with a load of car parts for assembly plants of the SOLLERS concern in Tatarstan. The total transit time will be 8 days. As previously reported, on June 1, 2010, OJSC TransContainer launched a new logistics scheme, an alternative to the previous route for the delivery of car parts from Italy through the port of Novorossiysk. Now container trains will also run from Pescara.
It should be noted that the project of JSC TransContainer on the organization of a railway route for the delivery of auto components from Italy continues the trend of providing the company with integrated logistics services for leading European auto concerns with assembly plants in Russia. Recall that OJSC TransContainer is already organizing transportation of car parts from Europe for the production complexes Volkswagen and Peugeot Citroen in the Kaluga Region.
