JSC TransContainer, the largest Russian company operating in the field of intermodal container transport and integrated logistics solutions, held a presentation of a container traffic service between Turkey (Istanbul) and Russia/the CIS countries through the port of Zapadny (Rostov-on-Don) on November 2, 2010 in Istanbul (Turkey). 

During the presentation, the customers of JSC TransContainer in the Turkish region, both existing and potential, were presented with the main advantages of the updated service. The company was offered not only direct operational management of the Zapadny port, but also effective cooperation with a new agent in Turkey, LAMRUS, to offer the customers a high-quality and regular service for transportation between Turkey and Russia/the CIS countries. The quality of these services was also reflected in the implementation of measures for the technical equipment of the Zapadny port. Now the weekly service is carried out using the multipurpose dry cargo vessel Ukrainets with a capacity of 225 TEUs. 

According to Dmitry Bulaenko, Sales Director of JSC TransContainer, the timeliness of this event is due to the continuation of policy of JSC TransContainer aimed at increasing business profitability against the background of a gradual recovery of the container traffic market, improving the company’s financial and production performance and expanding its presence at international freight market.
