The National Corporate Governance Rating of JSC TransContainer was upgraded from 6+ to 7. On October 22, 2010, the consortium of the Russian Institute of Directors and the Expert RA rating agency – RID – Expert RA – upgraded corporate governance rating of JSC TransContainer from level 6 + up to level 7 (“Developed Corporate Governance Practice”) on the scale of the National Corporate Governance Rating.

According to the Consortium, the rating upgrade reflects a number of significant changes in the corporate governance practices of the company since the last rating review in August 2009. Among such changes, experts note, in particular, the adoption of significant corporate standards (Corporate Governance Code, the Policy on rotation of the external auditor and interaction with the external auditor regarding the provision of non-audit services, the Regulations on Internal Control) and the formation of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee, headed by an independent director.

In accordance with the RID-Expert RA National Corporate Governance Rating scale, a company with a rating level of 6 to 8 has low corporate governance risks, complies with Russian corporate governance requirements, follows most of the recommendations of the Russian Code of Corporate Conduct and certain international recommendations corporate governance best practices.
