Guided by the general goals of increasing the level of container transport safety, JSC TransContainer and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RoS) have signed a Cooperation Agreement.

The main task identified by the parties in the signed document is to ensure the safety of container traffic, taking into account compliance with international and national requirements for containers in operation.

“Ensuring the safety of transported goods and the safety of container traffic are the most important conditions for the successful development of the industry. The cooperation of our organizations is a significant step in this direction,” said Mikhail Aivazov, General Director of the RoS. “The trust of JSC TransContainer is for us an indicator of the demand for services of the RoS among manufacturers, carriers and container owners.”

The range of services of the RoS aimed at maintaining safety and quality standards during the operation of containers of JSC TransContainer will include technical supervision, approval of regulatory and technical documents, inspection of subordinate repair facilities, certification of containers and packaging, declaration of dangerous goods.

“The agreement was signed with the aim of improving the reliability of transport operations by JSC TransContainer, and to maintain its leading position in the market,” said Viktor Shekshuyev, Deputy General Director of JSC TransContainer. “The experience and qualifications of the RoS specialists will allow us to ensure that our equipment meets national and international requirements, and receive methodological and practical assistance in organizing work in accordance with internationally accepted standards.”

In general, the cooperation of two reputable organizations will be aimed at optimizing the transportation of significant volumes of goods in accordance with high international standards, as well as at encouraging the use of recognized safety standards in international and national traffic.
