Timber From Lesosibirsk Arrived in Alexandria

The first lot of timber-carrying containers arrived from Lesosibirsk (the Krasnoyarsk Region) at Alexandria port in Egypt. Its total capacity equals 120 TEU. The consigner company is Novoeniseysky Lesokhimichesky JSC Complex .

On 8 October TransContainer launched its first express container train following the route Lesosibirsk (Russian, the Krasnoyarsky Region)-Alexandria (Egypt) via Rostov port. The train consisted of 35 freight cars loaded with 40-foot containers. The entire railway rolling equipment belongs to JSC TransContainer.

According to Vladimir Dratchev, deputy general director of JSC TransContainer, it took 15 days to deliver timber to Alexandria. “The containers arrived at the port on time, fully in line with the schedule. We have provided to our client Novoeniseysky Lesokhimichesky JSC Complex a prompt and reliable service having organised multimode transportation of their timber from the Krasnoyarsk Region to Egypt. Now all the potential clients in the region can see that TransContainer guarantees speed, safety and convenience,” says Vladimir Dratchev.

He added that the company was ready to offer the same range of transportation and forwarding services to all timber-processing companies of the region, who, in turn, became interested in the new logistics plan for transportation of timber to Egypt. “Before now, such cargoes could be transported only in low-sided cars, whereas today JSC TransContainer and the biggest consigners of the region reached agreements, according to which each consigner would monthly ship about 300 TEU of timber. The second train is virtually ready to leave for Alexandria, so I am sure that our new route will be very popular,” said Vladimir Dratchev.
